It takes individuals, leaders, and groups like you, who are willing to give a day, a month, or several days a year to help turn a truck load of construction materials into a new home for a deserving family. Building a home alongside other volunteers and partner families is a great way to be part of something bigger. Opportunities are available at the construction site; however, availability is limited and priority is given to volunteers linked with a sponsor group.
Volunteers generally participate in construction Wednesday through Saturday, and no construction experience is necessary. You can get involved on a regular basis and become a Core Volunteer or get involved as often as your schedule allows.
Build Site Age Restrictions
Under 16 years of age: not allowed on site during any phase of construction
16–17 years old: allowed to participate in construction, but cannot get on the roof or operate power tools; must have one adult supervisor over 21 per 5 youth

A Habitat Core Volunteer is literally just that: the “core” that keeps everything intact. You can become part of our “Core” at the ReStore or on the build site.
You will have the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people, and develop leadership skills. To be a Core Volunteer, you must be able to commit to one day a month (or more if you desire) to your volunteer position.
Our Habitat University program is a great first step to learning all aspects of the build process. Habitat University consists of 7 training sessions done on-site at your convenience. Start with our introductory freshman course and graduate through our specialized training including framing, roofing, trusses, painting, and more. Once all training is completed, volunteers graduate to become a Core Volunteer.
You will have the opportunity to enhance your construction knowledge, learn new skills, meet new people, and develop leadership skills. To be a Core Volunteer, you must be able to commit to one day a month (or more if you desire) to your volunteer position.

ReStore Core Volunteers are involved in all aspects of retail operations and work with the Habitat ReStore staff in guiding volunteers who are out for the day to assist in the stores. You will have the opportunity to enhance your knowledge in retail operations, learn new skills, meet new people, and develop leadership skills. To be a ReStore Core Volunteer, you must be able to commit to at least one shift a month.
