Hickory Creek Block Party

Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity spotlighted the Hickory Creek neighborhood by having a block party to get to know the neighbors and to let people know that Habitat is building in the area. There was a bounce house, hot dogs, and other partner agencies. The model home at 2042 Hollow Creek Dallas, TX 75253 was also open to tour and is fully furnished to give potential homeowners an idea of what their new home will look like!

Pioneer Natural Resources Reception

Celebrating their sixth year partnering with Dallas Habitat for Humanity, Pioneer Natural Resources’ Jay Still and Tim Dove, hosted a cocktail reception at the La Cima Club in Las Colinas, featuring Dream Dallas Advisory Council Chairman, Mike Gruber and Roger Staubach. Pioneer’s commitment to Habitat is inspirational, as Executive V.P. of Domestic Operations, Tim Dove mentioned, “Our employees love getting out there and working together; making a difference. It’s not only a benefit for the family, who get a new home, but a benefit for our company morale. Everybody wins.”

 

 

Mill City Neighborhood Fair

On Saturday, June 4th Dallas Habitat partnered with over 20 organizations to celebrate the launch of building in the Mill City area of South Fair Park. The day was a huge success with many neighbors coming out to enjoy the free food, good music and to learn about local services available to the area. There was a bounce house, free hair cuts and police car and fire trucks for people to look through.

Neighborhood Dedication

On Saturday, May 14th, 2011 Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity staff came together with volunteers, board members and 17 partner families for a Neighborhood Dedication. The event was a great success and a lot of fun and the families were very happy to share their special moment with one another. There was great food and cake enjoyed by all!

 

Ginger Man Chili Cookoff

For the 3rd year in a row, Dallas Area Habitat was honored to be chosen by the Ginger Man as the beneficiary from the annual Texas Chili Cookoff. This year was the best ever, with tons of great prizes and delicious chili. The Dallas Habitat's construction even ended early Saturday, March 26th so that Dallas staff and volunteers could come and have a good time and support Director of Construction Bif Haigh who was a celebrity guest judge!

 

Frazier Christmas

 December 11th, 2010    » Mayor Tom Leppert was on hand in Frazier Courtyard Homes to help host the "Look Who's Home for the Holidays" celebration Saturday morning. The celebration was to honor the completion of 40 new homes in Frazier Courtyards with a partnership that included Inner-City Community Development with Dream Dallas Corporate Sponsor Chase and other corporate sponsors.

 November 4th, 2010    » Thursday night was a fantastic night meant to honor the organizations, companies, and individuals whose hard work, commitment and resources benefit Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity directly. The evening was a wonderful time to relax and enjoy being in a room with a group of highly civic minded individuals!
